Ex-Audit Chief to Probe Former Govt’s Financial Wrongs

Checking on previous government’s finances.

Putrajaya has appointed former auditor-general Tan Sri Ambrin Buang to spearhead a committee tasked with investigating the previous government’s administration, finances and acquisitions.

Ambrin has been appointed the chairman of the new Special Investigative Committee of Administrative Affairs, Procurements and Finance.

Speaking at a press conference in Putrajaya this afternoon, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the Defence Ministry would be the first to be probed.
