Lim Kit Siang has called for greater vigilance and opposition to the post-GE14 politics of fear, hate and lies which have become more vicious and toxic when accompanied by the extremist politics of race and religion.
In a media statement yesterday evening, Lim said he was shown a WhatsApp message that is circulating, accusing him of being a communist.
He shared an excerpt of the message, which read:
Selepas tentera British meninggalkan Malaya (sebelum merdeka) kominis semakin bermaharajalela selama 12 hari. Batu Pahat pada masa tu jadi pusat pengganas kominis. Rumah bapak Lim Kit Siang jadi pusat kominis & mereka banyak bunuh org-org Melayu bunuh askar-askar Melayu. Masa umur Lim Kit Kat 18 tahun ditahan 1960 dia dah pakai uniform kominis.”
(“Lim Kit Siang who was born in Funan came to Malaya with his father in 1957. They received help from the Malays in Batu Pahat, Johor. Lim was 16 at the time, At first, his father reared chickens, but later reared pigs. Lee Kuan Yew went to school in Batu Pahat. Lee Kuan Yew was Lim Kit Siang’s teacher in communist and Jewish ideologies. The emergency in Malaya began in 1948 and ended in 1960. After the British left Malaya (before Independence), the communist acted as lords for 12 days. Batu Pahat at the time became the centre for communist terrorists. Lim Kit Siang’s father’s house became a communist terrorist centre and they killed many Malays, killed Malay soldiers. In 1960, when Lim Kit Kat (sic) was 18, he was arrested and he was already wearing the communist uniform then.”)
“There are over a dozen lies in that one vicious and toxic paragraph,” said Lim.
In his speech at the opening of the DAP Iskandar Puteri parliamentary service centre at Gelang Patah last night, the Iskandar Puteri MP also trained his guns on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Umno and their cybertroopers, alleging they are working on a new political agenda.
“They have ‘psycho-ed’ themselves into believing that the Pakatan Harapan government in Putrajaya would not last, that it is highly fragile and will crack and disintegrate before the full term is over – paving the way for their return to Putrajaya.
“This is why there is an intensification of the politics of fear, hate and lies in post-14th General Election which becomes doubly vicious and toxic when accompanied by the extremist politics of race and religion.
“This is why there is the intensification of the baseless charges to arouse fear and hate among the Malays that the Malays and Islam are under threat in Malaysia, simply because the Finance Minister, the Minister in charge of law and the Attorney-General are not Muslims.
“Although the practitioners of the politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies are fighting a losing battle, their viciousness and toxicity cannot be underestimated, and Malaysians must continue to expose these political opportunists and crooks who want to destroy the Pakatan Harapan government and bring back UMNO/BN to power.”
