Questioned over his remarks that the PH government tried to protect those who killed firefighter Adib.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam has been released on police bail.

He was seen leaving the Dang Wangi Police District headquarters, where he was held overnight, at about 10.30am on Friday (Jan 11).

Upon his release, he was met by a group of supporters, including fellow Umno member Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos.

The Pemantau Malaysia Baru (PMB) president was called in by Bukit Aman CID on Thursday (Jan 10) afternoon and subsequently arrested for holding illegal rallies and making seditious statements.

According to a statement by PMB, Lokman was detained over a video alleging that the Pakatan Harapan government was covering up the killing of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, who died three weeks after being seriously injured in a fracas outside a temple in USJ 25 in Subang Jaya on Nov 27.

Yesterday, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police had completed their investigation into the death of the firefighter and the investigation papers had been sent to the DPP’s office for further action.
