Prosecutors set to charge Najib and Arul Kanda on Wednesday.
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has been arrested by graft investigators over the “tampering” of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) final audit report.
An MACC source confirmed the arrest was made shortly after the former prime minister arrived at its federal headquarters in Putrajaya at 10.42am this morning (Dec 10).
Najib was allowed bail at an undisclosed sum at around 1.30pm today, according to Berita Harian.
Arul Kanda will be charged with abetting Najib.
The two are expected to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
After he was arrested earlier, it had been thought that Rosmah would have to mark her 66th birthday today without Najib.
