Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming has urged Datuk Seri Najib Razak to repent and not use fake news to attack him or the DAP.

Nga says he will lodge a police report against Najib over a Facebook post on bilingual road signs which the former prime minister claimed was “inciteful” towards the Selangor Sultan.

“We are going to lodge a police report,” he told reporters after officiating an event today.

“I have already asked him to repent. How low can he go now?”

The post in question, caught in a screenshot, was purportedly by the ‘Nga Kor Ming Super Fans’ page.

However, Nga said yesterday that checks found it was actually from a Chinese page called ‘Ju Xi Wan Yak’.

He said neither page is connected to him or DAP.

Nga was commenting on Najib’s action of using a fake account, allegedly to damage his (Nga’s) name and incite the people to hate him and the party.

Najib had through his Facebook posting, called on the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to take action against the Perak DAP chairman for asking the Chinese who were unhappy to protest against the Sultan of Selangor.

This followed the decision to disallow the use of dual-language road signages in Selangor.

The Sultan had ordered that road signages in both Chinese and Bahasa Melayu be removed and replaced with signages only in Bahasa Melayu.

However, yesterday Nga had reportedly denied that he nor the DAP were involved in trying to incite the Chinese to hate the Selangor Sultan.

Speaking today, he said Najib’s claim was ridiculous. He also said he has lodged a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and is awaiting advice from his legal counsel.

He also accused Najib of resorting to fake news, saying the former prime minister had “run out of ideas”.

“He has reached a dead end and does not know what to do,” he added.

“My advice to Najib is: please repent and return to the right path. Don’t continue to be involved in spreading slander. From the Islamic perspective, slander is a big sin.”
