Two NGOs handed over the forensic report by a UK firm on the gay sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali to the Agong at Istana Negara today, saying they were forced to do so given the lack of action by the authorities.

Sekretariat Suara Rakyat (SSR) and Pertubuhan Bangkit said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had failed to take action despite receiving the same report five days ago.

SSR deputy chairman Mohamad Ali Mohamad said he trusted the king to ensure that justice would prevail, adding that he does not want Malaysia to be a laughing stock to other countries.

“I just came back from Jakarta, Indonesia, where my friends were astonished and laughed at how one person has already confessed but nearly two months on there is still no action,” he said.

“We are confident that the police will do what is best for Malaysians.”

Bangkit president Shahrin Azlan meanwhile urged Attorney-General Tommy Thomas to open a case against Azmin, saying Bukit Aman had recently confirmed that investigation papers on the matter had been handed over to the AG’s Chambers.

“Once again, I call on the prime minister to remove Azmin from the Cabinet. That is why we’re here,” he said.

Mohamad said if no action is taken within the next two weeks, the NGOs will hand out copies of the forensic report to the residents of Azmin’s constituency, Gombak.

“We have printed nearly 100,000 copies of the report to be given to the voters in Gombak for them to judge and know who Azmin really is,” he said.

The video went viral after Haziq Aziz, the former head of Santubong PKR Youth, admitted to being one of two men seen in the clip engaging in sex acts.

He named Azmin as the other individual, a claim which the minister has strongly denied, saying it is aimed at destroying his political career. – FMT
