The Prime Minister’s office has denied rumours that Muhyiddin Yassin must go for cancer treatment.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s office also refuted talk that he will be appointing a deputy prime minister.

“Rumours that the Prime Minister has to go for cancer treatment is false and done with bad intention.

“The Prime Minister has been certified free of cancer by the specialists who have been treating him,” the PMO said in a statement today.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will address the nation at 6pm today on television.

According to promotional material for the event, Muhyiddin’s address will be on the implementation of the movement control order.

This will be Muhyiddin’s 17th live television address since taking power last March 1.

The address comes amidst very strong speculation among government circles that another round of strict lockdown rules – similar to ones seen between Mar 18 and May 4, 2020 – will be reimposed in the Klang Valley, Malacca, Penang, Johor, and Sabah.
