Family members, friends and DAP members bid a final farewell to Balakong assemblyman Eddie Ng this morning.
The Xiao En Memorial Park in Cheras was packed with a large crowd of well-wishers who came to pay respects to the late politician on Tuesday morning (July 24).
DAP’s Tony Pua, who spoke during the funeral proceedings, described Ng as a role model for future politicians.
“He was the perfect representative. He was on call 24 hours a day.
“Eddie, we will miss your can-do, never-say-die spirit,” he said.
Other DAP politicians who attended were Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
The casket left the memorial centre at 11.30am. After a short stop in Balakong, it would reach the Xiao En Crematorium in Nilai at 1.30pm.
Ng’s four-wheel drive vehicle crashed into the back of a lorry on the Grand Saga Expressway at 12.40am on Friday (July 20).
Ng, 40, was killed on the spot.
He is survived by his wife and three children aged 13, 15 and 17.
