Home Minister underwent surgery to remove early-stage growth in pancreas.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will take a one-month break from work after a successful operation to extract a pancreatic tumour, which was detected at an early stage.
“Alhamdulilah, the operation was successful and he is in a stable condition.
“He will be on leave to go for follow-up medical treatments beginning today and is expected to return for duty in one month.
“During his absence, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, will carry out the duties of the home minister,” said Home Ministry press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim in a statement.
