“The victim’s car is believed to have spun several times before being hit by a Proton Saga which was also coming from the Kuala Klawang direction. Because of the impact of the accident, Wong Qan Ton, who was at that time being held by her father Wong Ting Sing, 26, was thrown out of the car into the middle of the road,” Kamarul was quoted saying.

He added that the Proton Saga driver Luqman Al Hakim Fouzar, 23, from Simpang Durian sustained neck injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Honda Civic escaped unhurt.

It was reported that the baby, who suffered severe head injuries, was sent to Jelebu Hospital before being referred to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ).

However, she was confirmed dead at about 7.50am.

Kamarul said the police are investigating the incident under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
