A fight broke out in a crowd queuing at Pacific Plaza on Friday morning for the launch of a new Adidas collection made in collaboration with US singer Pharrell Williams.
A video of the incident posted on digital media brand The Playbook’s Facebook page shows some men shoving and shouting at each other but reportedly, not a single act of assault was committed.
The dispute happened at around 8.20am when someone tried to cut the queue eager to get their hands on the Adidas by Pharrell Williams-Hu Holi Blank Canvas collection at the Adidas Originals store at Pacific Plaza.
Soon after the fight broke out, police officers arrived at the scene but the fracas was ultimately contained by security officers at the mall in Scotts Road.
No injuries were reported.
The sale opened only two hours later at 10am, limiting each customer to one piece of apparel and one pair of footwear. Prices ranged from S$230 to S$380.
In November 2016, unhappy customers complained about the chaotic crowd at Pacific Plaza for a limited edition collection of Adidas-Bathing Ape shoes.
In November last year, a man was charged for allegedly punching another man while queuing for new special edition Adidas sneakers at a launch in Kuala Lumpur.
