Police are investigating a shocking video being shared on social media showing two men attacking a woman.
It was reported that the two-and-a-half minute video is alleged to have been shot at an industrial estate in Klang.
“We are in the midst of tracing the whereabouts of the suspects in the video. Our initial investigation indicates that it was a fight between a husband and wife,” Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said earlier today.
The incident occurred when a woman factory worker was dragged kicking and screaming out of her workplace in Klang and slashed by two men this morning while several bystanders, including a security guard, looked on helplessly.
The video starts with a man dragging and beating a woman in front of a blue Proton Satria, while several people witnessing the attack are heard screaming.
Another man can be seen getting out of the car wielding a weapon resembling a machete and walking towards the two, as the other man drags the woman towards the passenger side of the vehicle.
Moments later, the accomplice opens the car door as the armed suspect threatens to slash the woman.
The two men drag the woman behind the passenger side door as one of them swings the weapon repeatedly at the woman.
The two then bundle the woman into the car as she is heard screaming frantically for help before driving off.
Police are now searching for the two assailants, one of whom has been identified as the woman’s partner N Somoo, 37, while the other is known only as Morgan, the Malay Mail reported.
According to Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli, Somoo went to the factory on Jalan Seruling, Taman Klang Jaya, where 42-year-old P Komathi works, at 9am.
“The husband started assaulting his wife when she came out from the factory to meet him.
“He attacked her with a parang as his friend watched, soon after they forced her into a blue Satria and drove away,” Shamsul was quoted saying.
He added that police believe the husband’s act may have been motivated by jealousy, based on a police report filed by the couple’s 13-year-old daughter.
Citing sources, the Malay Mail reported that the couple were not legally married but have three children.
The woman has since been admitted to a hospital in Seremban. However, the details on how she came to be there is still unclear.
Shamsul said a police team is searching for the two men now.
