Warning does not hold water.
Federal CCID director Datuk Seri Amar Singh Ishar Singh yesterday responded to Seputeh Umno division chief Datuk Mohd Razlan Rafii’s warning to stop talking about 1MDB to prevent former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak from undergoing a trial by media and in view of the temporary gag order.
The head of Bukit Aman’s commercial crime investigation department (CCID) described the warning by Razlan as something coming from an “empty tin can”.
Amar said that he did not want to waste time and give any attention to Razlan’s warning.
“I wouldn’t waste my time on him, nor pay heed to his statement as he’s got the whole ‘interim gag order’ wrong.
“Empty vessels make the most noise.
“At this point in time, the case which is ongoing in court is related to SRC International Sdn Bhd funds and not 1MDB.
“He (Razlan) can say anything he wants, as long as it does not violate the country’s laws,” Amar said.
When elaborating, he said the police would continue to do their work fairly without taking any sides with any individual.
“We are carrying out our duty without fear or favour and we do this professionally,” he said.
