A group of 25 ‘Goyang Kuk’ members, including eight underage teenagers, who were busted at a ‘get high’ party has been charged with drug possession and drug abuse.
The youngsters were charged at the magistrate’s court in Bukit Mertajam on Sept 21 with two counts of drug possession.
Only one of the accused, Tan Ming Lhek, 20, pleaded guilty to the charge, with the remaining 24, including the underage teenagers aged 15 to 17 claiming trial.
The other 16 who pleaded not guilty were Muhammad Firdaus Rosley, Mohamad Lokman Imran Selamat, Noor Elyya Natasha Md Norizan and Nurul Shuhada Adnan, all aged 18; Aniq Ishraf Hafey Mohamad Zuki, Aniq Ashraf Hafiz Mohamad Zuki and Luqman Hakim Fakrurazi, all aged 19; Mohammad Shaqirin Sa’aban and Dayang Sharmilly Zulkitlee, aged 20; Muhammad Zulhaili Zafrullah Zulkifli, Mohamad Azri Hisyam Mohd Ariff and Nur Fithriyaani Ishak, aged 21; Mohamad Akmal Shamsudin and Amzar Fahim Rosli, aged 22; Nur Atiqah Zulkifli, 23 and Sa’adon Din, 26.
All 25 accused were jointly charged with possessing 0.81gm of Nimetazepam and 1.5gm of Ketamin at a rented apartment in Jalan Kelisa Emas, Prai, at about 11am on Sept 17.
Muhammad Firdaus also faced a separate charge of possessing 0.81gm of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine at the same place and time.
The accused were charged under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a maximum RM100,000 fine or maximum five years’ jail, or both, upon conviction.
The magistrate allowed all the accused to be freed on RM6,000 bail each and fixed Nov 23 for mention.
All the accused were represented by Zainal Akram Zainal Azahar.
At a separate court, the accused pleaded guilty to a charge of administering drugs to themselves at the Seberang Prai Tengah district police headquarters’ Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department office at 2.45pm the same day.
The magistrate granted bail of between RM3,500 and RM7,000 each, and fixed Nov 22 for mention.
