The Education Ministry has announced that May 9 will be a special school holiday in conjunction with the polling day for the 14th General Election (GE14).
According to its minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, all 10,180 public schools nationwide will be closed on May 9, which falls on Wednesday, the New Straits Times reported.
“This includes 6,941 schools which were selected as polling centres for the 14th General Election,” he said.
The Election Commission today announced April 28 as the nomination date and May 9 as the polling day of GE14.
