Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam says he will not sue Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Mohd Shukri Abdull over claims that the authorities were prejudiced against former PM Najib Razak.
“I feel that it would be a waste of time to file a suit against someone like this.
“Because we know the government of Malaysia today is practising the rule of the jungle, not the rule of law,” claimed Lokman who was among Najib’s supporters present at the Jalan Duta Court Complex in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Last week, Lokman, who is also president of the NGO Pemantau Malaysia Baru, had previously lodged a police report against Shukri for lying about the charges against Najib.
Najib himself filed lawsuits against Shukri, police commercial crimes head Amar Singh and Attorney-General Tommy Thomas some two weeks ago.
Shukri, however, said he was undeterred by the suit.
Lokman, who heads a group called Pemantau Malaysia Baru, also continued criticising the authorities for freezing the bank accounts of Najib’s children.
He singled out Shukri for abusing his position to exact revenge upon Najib’s family members.
“I am not accusing MACC as a whole, but I dare say that this action is being carried out by Shukri,” he said.
