The Health Ministry has dispelled rumours that the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has reached the 10,000 mark on Friday (May 21).
“The information is not true.
“(We) Appeal to all Malaysians not to share,” the ministry said on its Facebook page on Friday.
The post garnered over 2,500 shares in less than an hour after it was posted.
The ministry said that spreading fake news would disrupt and affect the efforts of the ministry’s frontliners who are battling the pandemic.
It reminded the public to get its information from their official platforms. – The Star
