The Forensic Audit report on the littoral combat ships (LCS) scandal has been declassified, says Boustead Heavy Industries Corp (BHIC).
“The forensic audit was conducted on BHIC by Alliance IFA(M) Sdn Bhd,” said BHIC in a statement on Monday (Aug 22).
“Hence as per orders of the Cabinet, only the contents of the LCS forensic audit were declassified as a public document,” it added.
BHIC said it had handed over the report to the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Monday.
It added that it was now up to the PAC to determine how and when the document would be released for public view.
On Aug 10, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government agreed to declassify documents pertaining to investigations into the LCS.
However, he said, the government would seek the advice of the Attorney General and Auditor-General before doing so. – The Star
