The office of the chief registrar of the Federal Court clarified today that a leaked judgment in relation to former prime minister Najib Razak’s appeal was merely a draft.
“The final verdict was read out in open court at 4pm on the same day.
“The leaked document has also been tampered with,” the registrar’s office said in a statement.
It said that a police report had been lodged while an internal investigation was in progress.
“This is a deliberate act to tarnish the integrity of the operation of the Court and the administration of justice.
“An internal investigation has already started and a police report has been made.
“This office insists that the judiciary will not be harassed by illegal and irresponsible acts that affect the integrity of the country’s judicial system,” the registrar said in a statement.”
The statement was in response to the document dated Aug 26 which was posted by controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin on his Malaysia Today blog.
Earlier today, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki expressed shock over the judgment leaked several hours before the official verdict was delivered.
