The family of Najib Abdul Razak has expressed disappointment that the former prime minister did not get a full pardon and immediate release from prison.
In an Instagram post, Najib’s daughter Nooryana Najwa said while the family appreciated the reduction of jail time from 12 years to six years after consideration by the Pardons Board, they remain disappointed.
“Najib Razak and family maintain the stand and believe that he is not guilty,” Nooryana said.
Meanwhile, former Umno leader Isham Jalil has taken a swipe at unity government party leaders over the Pardon’s Board decision to reduce Najib’s jail sentence and fine.
Isham said the party leaders are liars and should not be trusted.
“I already said. They are all liars, but some still believe and hope that they can help.
“Now what has happened? Still want to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi?
“Support if you want to continue to be cheated,” he said in a brief Facebook post.
