The individual who had expressed hope that Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s life would end two days ago on Twitter apologised this morning.
Twitter user @Zaki_Yamani_ tweeted his apology following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s order at 6.49am today.
“Taking note of Anwar’s comments and the views of my friends, I apologise to the wives and family of Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang if my comments offend them,” said the read the tweet.
His apology comes a day after Anwar called him out, also on the same social media platform.
It was reported on July 1 that the Pas president’s health was deteriorating, and he was undergoing treatment in a hospital.
Hadi’s health has since stabilised, and he was reportedly discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon.
The individual also made a similar comment towards Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
However, no apology is visible on his Twitter feed for the former premier at present.
News portal MalaysiaNow claimed that Zaki is an aide to Anwar’s political secretary Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, in its article on this matter yesterday.
Shamsul has since called for the portal to retract that article as the allegations linking him and Zaki have “no basis”.
