PKR adviser Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has told party members who feel they are no longer in line with the party’s struggles to leave instead of becoming enemies within.
She told those who were disappointed after losing in the recent party elections not to attack and destroy PKR. They should not make enemies of one another, she said.
Wan Azizah said members had remained loyal to the party after the Sheraton Move, when former deputy president Azmin Ali left along with 10 other MPs, causing the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to fall after a 22-month stint in Putrajaya.
“We are all part of a family. The elections are over. It is now time for us to regain our strength and remain consistent in our original struggle,” she said at the national PKR women’s congress, being held at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, today.

“We are not enemies. We are in the same party. If you want to leave, then go but don’t be enemies within the party. Don’t destroy what we have built together.”
Wan Azizah said the party had faced its fair share of turmoil and division in the past, but stressed the importance of getting it ready to face the “challenging” 15th general election (GE15) ahead.
She could not hold back her tears during her speech this morning when she spoke of the party’s internal conflict.
“Only God knows my love for the party. In a party election, there will be those who win and lose in any contest. That is normal.
“I am used to losing in life but that doesn’t mean I am an enemy (of the victor),” she said.
“I want us to remain strong and continue to work together in building unity not only at the central level, but also in the divisions, despite the fact that we are facing a political hurricane and a leadership crisis in the country,” she added.
