Prominent social activist Hishamuddin Rais has denied uploading a seditious article against the Agong on his blog on June 6.

His lawyer, Zaid Malek said Hishamuddin had lodged a police report at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters yesterday evening, claiming his blog had been hacked by certain parties who wrote and published the article.

Speaking to reporters after giving his statement at the Petaling police station late last night, Hishamuddin said his blog had been hacked.

“I denied the allegations. I explained that my blog was hacked. Even five to six days before GE14, my blog was hacked and I couldn’t access it for three days.

“I told the police I am willing to come again and give my explanation on my blog being hacked if needed.”

Yesterday, five Islamic non-governmental organisations in Pahang lodged reports at the Kuantan district police headquarters against Hishamuddin over the seditious article.

Hishamuddin, who allegedly uploaded the article on his blog www.tukartiub.blogspot.com, also included the alleged amount spent for the upkeep of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, which Council of Eminent Persons head of media and communications A Kadir Jasin had uploaded on his personal blog.

However, it is understood that Hishamuddin removed the statement after a screenshot of it was widely spread on social sites.
