The pattern which was formed on the rubber mannequin after being hit by the door of the Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) van was similar to injuries and bruises found on the right chest of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.
Retired Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) forensic pathology professor Dr Shahrom Abd Wahid, 62, said during the re-enactment, the mannequin which was held by a fireman was placed at the doorjamb of the EMRS van before the door was slammed hard.
He said an orange-coloured dummy was used and black fabric paint was brushed on the door of the EMRS van.
“We used all our might to push the object against the EMRS door and a similar pattern was formed.

“We swung the door rapidly against the dummy and pulled the dummy out. Then we matched it with the pattern on the victim’s right chest,” he said in reply to questions from conducting officer Hamdan Hamzah during the inquest proceeding yesterday.
The 29th witness said to get the perfect wound as experienced by Adib, one has to be properly hit by the door of the EMRS van.
The former lecturer refuted the theory put forward by Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) pathologists that Adib had sustained the right chest injuries from a fall, after the fireman was said to have been hit by the van’s door.
“Based on the reconstruction video by HKL and police, there is nothing along the roadside to suggest there was a curb that would have been able to create this injury,” Shahrom said.
But he admitted that different pathologists might have their own opinions about the injuries.
The inquest continues on April 19 before coroner Rofiah Mohamad.
