Anwar Ibrahim is believed to have been called by the police today to record his statement as part of a probe into a report filed against him by his former staff.
Updated: Anwar was interviewed for about two hours, arriving at about 3.40pm and leaving at close to 6pm.
Sources say Anwar is with the police, FMT reported.
This comes days after Bukit Aman’s Classified Criminal Investigation Unit launched a probe based on a police report lodged by Muhammed Yusoff Rawther on Dec 7.
Police said the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code, a provision on the use of criminal force to outrage a person’s modesty.
Anwar strongly denied the claim, calling it baseless and politically motivated. His lawyer Ramkarpal Singh has since been trying to serve a letter of demand on Yusoff.
