During a raid at the residence of one of Ismail Sabri’s former aides, the MACC seized more than RM100 million in cash.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will summon several individuals, including “prominent figures,” in its ongoing investigation into allegations of abuse of power and money laundering involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s ex-aides.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that more witnesses would be called as part of the probe. “Yes, several individuals will be summoned soon,” he said. However, he declined to specify which prominent figures would be involved.

During a raid at the residence of one of Ismail Sabri’s former aides, the MACC seized more than RM100 million in cash. According to the New Straits Times, a source revealed that the money was found in multiple bags and safes across various rooms. The special investigation team also confiscated documents, jewellery, and electronic devices.

The raid followed months of surveillance, with investigators now working to trace the source of the funds and determine any links to political financing. A key figure among Ismail Sabri’s former staff is reportedly under scrutiny for his role in handling the seized cash.

Azam had earlier confirmed the arrest of four of the former prime minister’s aides to assist in the investigation. While he did not disclose the exact amount recovered, he described it as a “hefty sum” and said inquiries were ongoing.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri was admitted to a hospital in Kota Damansara after collapsing at home on Saturday due to high blood pressure. He is now in stable condition.
