Social media was abuzz last night with rumours that PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali was expelled from his party.
According to PKR communications director Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, the meeting in which Azmin was purportedly sacked, as claimed on social media, did not even take place last night, Malaysiakini reported.
“Rumours remain just that…rumours,” he was quoted as saying.
A large number of social media users claimed the sacking had to do with Azmin’s rift with the party’s vice-president Rafizi Ramli.
“Many rumours are being circulated now by irresponsible people. To address this problem, we must not believe the rumours, especially those circulated via new technology (platforms) such as the social media,” Azmin told reporters today.
