Police and the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) will meet today to discuss three hot button cases involving PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, his deputy Mohamed Azmin Ali and the statutory declaration by Azilah Hadri linking Najib Razak to the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Huzir Mohamed said his department has completed the investigation papers for all three cases and that they will meet the AGC today to discuss the next step.

“Police will meet with the AGC this evening to discuss the three cases. We will then decide on the next course of action.

“This will also include if Anwar will have to take the lie detector or polygraph test,” Huzir told reporters at Bukit Aman today.

Anwar’s former aide, Muhammed Yusoff Rawther had last month accused Anwar of sexual impropriety and had taken the polygraph test to help in investigations. Yusoff had accused Anwar of attempting to force him to perform oral sex.

Police confirmed that they have received the analysis by foreign experts of a sex video implicating Azmin.

Huzir did not reveal the outcome of the analysis but said a joint statement on the matter will be issued in the near future.

Last November, Huzir had said the video was sent to a digital forensic expert at a US university to help determine its authenticity and identify the persons in the sex video.

Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who admitted he was the person in the video, had implicated Azmin as his partner.

Azmin had denied the allegation and claimed it was an attempt to destroy his political career.

The video, released by anonymous phone numbers through Whatsapp in June last year, showed two men engaging in sexual acts, purportedly at a hotel in Sandakan.

In July, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador had said an analysis by Cybersecurity Malaysia established that the video was “authentic” but cannot be “100 per cent” certain on the identities of those in the video.

Supporters of Azmin, who is in a feud with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, had alluded that the latter’s allies were involved in creating the sex video.
