The purported leaked judgment on the verdict of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s corruption case involving the solar hybrid project was only a reference for the judge and not a final copy, say the police.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai, in a statement, said that investigations have commenced after the Federal Court chief registrar’s office lodged a police report.

“The document is a research document regarding a case that is still under trial and it is the view of the research unit as a reference for the judge. According to the complainant, the document will be amended based on the research and is not the decision of the court,” he said.

This follows a report by Raja Petra Kamarudin that was published on Aug 26 titled “Rosmah Mansor will be pronounced guilty on 1st September 2022”.

Raja Petra claimed the draft judgment was written on behalf of the trial judge by persons unknown.

“This media report claimed that the decision by the court to find Rosmah Mansor guilty has already been made.

“However, the complainant said that the document was not the judgment,” Beh said.

The matter is being investigated, including under the Official Secrets Act 1972, he added.

Meanwhile, the Federal Court chief registrar’s office said in a statement that the Malaysian judiciary will not be compromised by illegal and irresponsible acts that will affect the integrity of the country’s judicial system.

Last week, there was another leak on the Federal Court ruling of Najib Razak’s SRC International case appeal ahead of the decision by the apex court on Wednesday.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court is expected to deliver its decision on Rosmah’s corruption trial next Thursday.
