Cops seek person behind ‘Edisi Siasat’ Twitter account for ‘sensationalising’ news about corruption

Many of the claims put up by Edisi Siasat are purposely sensationalised, says the country’s top cop.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said so far, 13 investigation papers have been opened against Edisi Siasat.

“The news or reports this Twitter handle exposes are mostly made up and for sensationalising the news,” he told a news conference today.

“All the things stated there, if it involved the police, we will forward it to the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department to authenticate the claims.

“We hope in the near future we can identify the individual or individuals behind this,” he added.

The Edisi Siasat Twitter page has been issuing posts, alleging corruption linked to high-ranking enforcement agencies officials, including from within the police force and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
