Former education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid could be next in line to be charged by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The case is reportedly related to the RM1.25 billion solar panel project for rural schools in Sarawak.

It is believed that Mahdzir could be charged on Friday (Nov 30) and may be detained by the MACC the night before.

However, MACC sources said this is unconfirmed and may be postponed.

Mahdzir would be the third individual to be charged over the same case.

Earlier this month, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and her former aide Datuk Rizal Mansor had both claimed trial to receiving bribes in connection to the case.

Mahdzir was questioned by MACC last month over the award of the contract for the solar project for schools in Sarawak’s interior.
