Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali has denied rumours that he is in a relationship with a celebrity, believed to be the ex-wife of an actor.
The Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister also denied that he was detained at a roadblock in Perasing, Terengganu.
The Kuala Nerus MP, who is with PAS, said that all the sensationalised stories were untrue and were aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
“Legal action will be taken against any party found to have written, published or spread these false stories,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (May 29).
Terengganu police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Roslee Chik had earlier said that Khairuddin was stopped at a roadblock in Perasing, Terengganu, on May 16.
“He was with another passenger at the time. The matter has been handed over to Bukit Aman CID’s Special Investigation Unit,” he said.
The roadblock incident went viral on social media, with Internet users primarily focused on the fact that he was travelling with a woman, reported to be Mawar Karim, the ex-wife of actor Fizo Omar.
The woman hails from Penang but is reportedly based in Kuala Lumpur.
It is learnt that speculation on the relationship is rife on social media.
In August last year, Khairuddin was fined RM1,000 for failing to undergo quarantine after returning from overseas.
