A lawyer has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming, a business tycoon, and the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz lodged the report yesterday based on a blog post by the business tycoon which has since been removed.
However, the lawyer said that he had taken screenshots of the post.
In the report, Nga is accused of receiving “contributions” worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit in his personal capacity as well as on behalf of Harapan.
Meanwhile, Nga has emerged as the highest earning among members of parliament and government officers.
According to the MACC declaration of assets website, the Perak DAP chairman and his wife declared monthly earnings of RM101,160.
This ranks them above Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and his wife, who had previously declared monthly earnings of RM86,464.92.
In third place is Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew, at RM84,422.50.
Currently, 112 government MPs have declared their monthly earnings. The information can be accessed via the website mydeclaration.sprm.gov.my which the commission started on Nov 1.
