Mokhzani, another son of former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
This development comes shortly after the questioning of Mahathir’s eldest son, Mirzan, by the anti-graft agency on January 17. MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed the summons for Mokhzani, who arrived at the MACC headquarters at around 11 am.
The investigation into Mokhzani, a businessperson, is believed to be connected to a property declaration notice. The MACC is conducting the probe under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing and Proceeds from Illegal Activities Act 2001 (Amlatfpuaa 2001).
Additionally, several individuals are anticipated to receive declaration notices under Section 36(1) of the MACC Act soon, as reported by Berita Harian.
