Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has lodged two police reports – one is for the cops to reopen the Altantuya case and the other against 1MDB’s Arul Kanda.
Altantuya’s Murder
Lim said the police must look into the motive behind the 2006 murder of the Mongolian model.
Both the High Court and Federal Court had failed to discover the motive behind the act, nor the identity of the person who ordered the murder.
“The people responsible for Altantuya’s murder should be charged with abetting the murder,” Lim said on Saturday (May 26).
Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said Bukit Aman had not reopened the case as there were no grounds to do so because no new police reports have been lodged.
Arul Kanda’s Fales Statements
Lim also lodged a police report against 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy for allegedly making false statements on the financial status of the company.
He said that action should be taken against Arul Kanda under Section 202 and 203 of the Penal Code for intentional omission and giving false information.
“He had repeatedly said that the company was not bankrupt and would be able to pay off its debts through a rationalisation plan.
“But recently, two 1MDB directors said that the company was insolvent and unable to repay its debts,” he said.
Lim also alleged that senior officials from Bank Negara, the Ministry of Finance, the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission were also involved in the cover-up at the time.
