The ninth day of the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial took an early break at 11.25am as Datuk Seri Najib Razak had a medical appointment to attend.

His lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah told the court that the former prime minister was having recurring symptoms that could again lead to conjunctivitis.
“I suspect it’s the haze primarily.
“He is getting watery eyes and nose. His idea (of having the appointment for medical treatment) is to prevent it from becoming full-blown.
After a moment of bickering between Shafee and lead prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah ordered for the session to adjourn at 11.30am and to resume at 2pm, which would be continued until after 5pm.
The trial was first adjourned on Sept 11 to Tuesday (Sept 17) due to Najib’s conjunctivitis.
