Anonymous individuals have released another video clip implicating Azmin Ali in a sex scandal this evening.

The same modus operandi was used where multiple Whatsapp groups were created and various individuals, including journalists, added to them.

In one of the groups, the person who released the clip used the pseudonym ‘Najib Razak’. The real Najib Razak has denied involvement.

The Whatsapp groups are named ‘Azmin Ali Part 2/4’, indicating that the perpetrators are planning to release more video clips.

Media personnel and politicians were added at around 7pm to a new WhatsApp group which subsequently forwarded one video and two images of homosexual sex.

Among those added were Bersatu supreme council member A Kadir Jasin, Umno leader Lokman Noor Adam, Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming, PKR’s Yaakob Sapari and Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim.

One of the photos, as well as the video, showed a man receiving oral sex.

Earlier, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that he spoke to Azmin about the gay sex video widely shared across social media networks.

Anwar was approached by reporters when he arrived at PKR headquarters in Merchant Square today where party leaders are having an emergency meeting to discuss how to handle the matter.

“Yes, I have been in touch with Azmin,” said Anwar when asked if he has spoken to the latter.

He said he had a lengthy phone conversation with Azmin.

“Yes, I am also aware of the statement he put out,” he answered when asked about Azmin’s statement denying he was the man in the gay sex video.

“I can’t say much now but we will release a statement once the meeting is over,” Anwar said, staying coy on the matter.

He confirmed that Azmin will not be attending the party’s political bureau meeting tonight.

“No (he’s not attending), but I called him on the phone and we had a long discussion. We had a long talk yesterday (June 11),” he said.

Those attending today’s meeting include PKR disciplinary board chairperson Syed Husin Ali, chief whip Johari Abdul Ghani, vice-president Dr Xavier Jayakumar, secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, vice-president Ali Biju and information chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

Azmin Ali’s statement in full:

I refer to the various media reports today publishing the allegations of an individual regarding a sex video purporting to implicate me. I categorically deny this vicious libel upon me.

This is nothing but a nefarious plot to assassinate my reputation and character in an attempt to destroy my political career. Judging from recent political developments, this is clearly the latest in a series of concerted attempts over the past few months to vilify me, which includes intimidation against the safety of my family and me in the final week of Ramadan, and vile and baseless accusations of corruption.

I utterly condemn this brand of gutter politics. It has no place in this era of New Malaysia, where we are working to rebuild the nation through institutional reforms.

I have instructed my lawyers to take the appropriate legal action against the individual who made these abominable allegations as well as against other perpetrators. I will avail myself of all legal means at my disposal to expose these culprits.

I will not submit to these cowardly acts and heinous attempts to distract the public from the pressing concerns of the nation and the successes of the Economic Affairs Ministry in the planning and implementation of national development policies that are sustainable and inclusive.

I trust the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will take all necessary action with regards to this matter.
