Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said today her legal team will look into revelation of audio recordings made possible by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this morning, showing conspiracy at the highest level of the then Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
In the recordings, Rosmah was heard directing her husband and former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on how to take charge and manage the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal that erupted in 2016.
At the beginning of the recording, she was heard shouting: “Can I advise you on something?”

When asked to comment on the sidelines of her Sarawak solar project case management at the High Court here, Rosmah said her lawyers have been instructed to look into the matter.
“My lawyers will take care of it. They will look into it,” she told reporters briefly after walking out of the courtroom.
Asked if the conversation in the clips ever took place, Rosmah said: “I don’t know.”
To another question if she would sue MACC for revealing the recording, she said: “I have nothing to say.”
Rosmah, who was also accompanied by her daughter Nooryana Najwa Najib, did not take further queries from the media.

Detractors had often accused Rosmah of meddling in government affairs when her husband was in power.
Deepak Jaikishan, a former close friend of the couple, who has since been embroiled in legal tussles with them, had told Al Jazeera in an interview in May last year that Rosmah was the “de facto prime minister” prior to the last general election.
A year earlier, Rosmah, when speaking at an event in Najib’s parliamentary constituency of Pekan in Pahang, denied she had Najib wrapped around her finger.
“I want to tell you, I have never interfered with his business, especially those relating to the government. I don’t understand why people still connect me with my husband’s duties.
“All sorts of stories, people have been talking about me, until people are scared of me. Just look at YouTube, all kinds of defamation are hurled at me, that’s all they do…
“Don’t think I control him, my job is to take care of my husband and family but people don’t know my husband is dedicated…my husband takes care of the people even more, especially the people in Pekan.
“I take care of my household, my husband thinks more of the people’s problem,” she said.
Two days after the event, BN was defeated in the May 9, 2018 general election. Now both Najib and Rosmah are facing a plethora of corruption cases.
