The Youth and Sports Ministry will leave it to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate a top sports official who was reported to have been detained for abuse of power yesterday.
Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said he was confident MACC will conduct their investigations in a fair and transparent manner.

“It is better we give MACC the space to conduct investigations. I am not sure why he was detained, so let MACC handle it,” he said when asked to comment on the matter.
The top official was reported to have been detained today to facilitate investigations under Section 23 of the MACC Act, purportedly for alleged abuse of power.
Malaysian Cycling Federation president Abu Samah Abdul Wahab was arrested for allegedly giving contracts worth RM325,000 to his family.

He was picked up at his house in Malacca on Jan 29.
Abu Samah has been remanded until Feb 2.
