Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) member Wan Saiful Wan Jan asserted today that he was instructed to withdraw a police report alleging forgery of claims documents involving thousands of ringgit at the office of the party’s Perlis chapter.
Serious allegations:
- Told to yank police report alleging forging of claims documents involving thousands of ringgit at Perlis chapter of Bersatu
- Offered a huge sum to arrange for government contracts worth millions of ringgit to a company involving a Bersatu leader’s son from Perlis
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) member Wan Saiful Wan Jan asserted today that he was instructed to withdraw a police report alleging forgery of claims documents involving thousands of ringgit at the office of the party’s Perlis chapter.
Wan Saiful, who is also the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) chairman, said he was unsure why the order was given, but insisted he will not comply.
He also did not name those who purportedly ordered him to do so.
“Prior to that, I was also adamant about not getting involved in arranging for government contracts worth millions of ringgit to a company involving a Bersatu leader’s son from Perlis,” he said using another commonly used name for PPBM.

“I was offered a huge sum of money if I helped to arrange for the contract. I refused to indulge in such power abuse.
“I will not give in when it comes to matters of integrity, and I will not bow to pressure to get the money illegally, by any individuals, regardless of the position they hold in Perlis,” Wan Saiful said, adding that this current issue only bolstered his resolve to help the Perlis PPBM chapter become better.
Wan Saiful’s statement comes after Perlis Bersatu announced its decision to drop him as its state secretary, saying that he was too preoccupied with his role as the PTPTN chairperson.
State party chief Ameir Hassan said Wan Saiful’s role at PTPTN was a heavy burden and had left many party matters unattended.

Ameir added that the decision to drop Wan Saiful was made two days ago at a meeting of Perlis Bersatu, which Wan Saiful did not attend.
He said the power to appoint the secretary was with the state party chairman and as such, Wan Saiful was not informed of the intention to drop him ahead of time but a letter had already been sent to him.
However, Wan Saiful said in his statement that not everything was fine in Perlis Bersatu, alluding to his allegations of corruption and cronyism.
Meanwhile, Perlis police chief Noor Mushar said investigations are being carried out into allegations of wrongdoings involving a person from Perlis Bersatu.
He said this was based on a police report filed by Wan Saiful.
According to Malaysiakini, Wan Saiful, in his Dec 15 report filed in Kangar, had accused the man of using his identity as the PTPTN chairperson to rent two cars.
The same person was also accused of falsifying documents and forging the signature of the state Bersatu secretary-general for a payment of more than RM188,000 to a company.
“The complainant reported that he had clarified with the treasurer-general who said that he never produced such a letter and that his signature has been forged,” Noor Mushar was quoted as telling Malaysiakini.
