Remember to hit the highway when you ‘balik kampung‘ for Raya with sufficient balance on your PLUSMiles and Touch ‘n Go cards, and enjoy rebates as well.
PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) will close all the 134 added value lanes at its toll plazas from Jun 22 until Jul 2 to allow for smooth traffic flow during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday.
In a statement by PLUS today, it said that the measure was aimed at reducing congestion caused by highway commuters queuing up at the value added lanes.
“PLUS expects the traffic flow at the North-South Expressway, in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday, will increase to 21 per cent compared to normal days.
“PLUS reminds the public to ensure their PLUSMiles or Touch ‘n Go cards have sufficient balance,” said the statement.
Members of the public can top up their cards at 9,200 other value-added locations nationwide, including automated teller machines (ATM), 24-hour convenience stores and petrol stations, including those at rest and service (R&R) areas along the highway.
PLUS customer service centres will also open daily from 7am until 10pm, including weekends and public holidays to enable the public to carry out their added-value matters at the selected toll plazas.
Also remember that PLUS is offering toll rebates of up to 30% for PLUSMiles and 10% for Touch ‘n Go cards for six designated dates: Jun 19-21, Jun 28-29 and Jul 3.
Highway users will still pay toll in full, with the rebates coming in the form of reloads which will be credited when users top up their cards at all PLUS customer service centres from Jul 15 till Oct 14.
The rebates are not offered for toll payments at Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Tanjung Kupang and Penang Bridge toll plazas.
PLUS estimates that 1.7 million vehicles will ply the North-South Expressway on peak days during Raya, a 21% increase over normal days.
