A 10-year-old girl died after she was found hanged at her home in Bandar Damai Perdana Cheras, yesterday.
Kajang district deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah said the girl was unconscious when her parents made the discovery at 5.30am.
They immediately took her to a private hospital nearby.
“The girl was found with a noose around her neck and the other end of the rope tied to a ladder holder,” Mohd Sabri said in a statement today.
Based on investigation, the girl who was the eldest of two was last seen alive on Wednesday night at about 9pm before she went to bed.
Mohd Sabri said statements have been taken from all family members. Investigation also did not uncover any evidence that suggests foul play.
“Post-mortem was conducted by experts at the Serdang Hospital and they did not find any other injuries that suggest a crime took place or signs of sexual assault,” he said.
He said investigation was ongoing to determine the motive behind what happened.
