Isa is currently serving a prison sentence.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has officially revoked the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota award from Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, stripping him of his ‘Tan Sri’ title.
The Prime Minister’s Department announced the move in a statement on Thursday (11 June), confirming that the revocation came into effect on 8 June. Mohd Isa is currently serving a prison sentence at Sungai Buloh Prison in Selangor.
According to the official statement, the removal complies strictly with Paragraphs XXV and XXVIA of the Darjah Yang Mulia Setia Mahkota Malaysia Statute. These specific rules permit the revocation of such honours following a criminal conviction.
The statement further noted that this action aligns directly with a royal decree delivered by Sultan Ibrahim on 7 September 2024, during a federal awards ceremony at Istana Negara.
