All is calm at Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s Jalan Langgak Duta residence following the Federal Court’s decision to uphold his sentence and conviction in the SRC International case.

This is in stark contrast to the time when the investigation against the former prime minister began in 2018, as the streets were filled with local and foreign pressmen waiting to report on the latest development in the investigation.

Scores of vehicles were also seen parked near his home in 2018.

There were only a few members of the media standing by.

No police personnel have been deployed near his home except for those on duty at the police guard post there.

Meanwhile, confusion reigned within the media group staking out at the Sungai Buloh Prison after word broke out that Najib would instead be sent to Kajang Prison.

Journalists had been waiting at the Sungai Buloh Prison since 5pm Tuesday (Aug 23) with the understanding that the former prime minister would be sent here following his failed appeal at the Apex Court.

However, it was then learnt that he would be sent to the Kajang Prison instead.

That led to frantic scrambles from the media team outside Sungai Buloh Prison, with some attempting to make the journey to Kajang in the rainy weather.

Spectators were also growing in numbers opposite the Sungai Buloh Prison.

Several dark tinted vehicles and other vehicles were seen parked opposite the prison’s entrance, believed to be carrying Najib’s supporters.
