Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to grant him an audience on Tuesday.
Anwar, who is also PKR president, said he would present to His Majesty a complete statement on the majority parliamentary support which Anwar claimed to have secured earlier.
He said he was grateful to Allah that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has recovered from his recent illness.
“In this regard, I would like to thank His Majesty for agreeing to grant me an audience on Tuesday, Oct 13, 2020,” he said in a statement today.
Anwar also urged the people to remain calm and comply with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
In a media conference on Sept 23, Anwar claimed he had secured “strong and convincing” support from the majority of the Members of Parliament to form a new government.
Anwar had said that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to grant him an audience then, but it had to be postponed after His Majesty was admitted to the National Heart Institute for treatment.
