Pakatan Harapan will not approach Dr Mahathir Mohamad again following his rejection of an offer to work once more with the pact, said Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar has dismissed any possibility of meeting with Dr Mahathir Mohamad to discuss the formation of a new government.
Asked if PH had officially split with Dr Mahathir, Anwar said: “No, we’re Harapan. He has left Harapan,” the PKR president told reporters after attending the PH Presidential Council leaders’ meeting at Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya, today.
The Port Dickson MP said Dr Mahathir has made a choice to return to Bersatu as its chairman.
On Wednesday, Dr Mahathir had proposed the formation of a non-partisan government following the collapse of the PH-led federal administration.
Anwar said, however, that PH’s doors are still open to Bersatu.

“We change by the day,” he said, when asked if PH would take Bersatu back.
PH leaders revealed yesterday that they had approached Dr Mahathir to return to the pact and become the prime minister again, but he had refused the offer.
PH then named Anwar as its prime ministerial candidate in the hopes of forming a minority government.
Dr Mahathir, meanwhile, asked the nation in a live telecast address yesterday to be allowed to form a non-partisan government.
He today returned to Bersatu as chairman, prompting talk he is trying to shore up support for him to return to office.
Meanwhile, PH leaders spotted at the Eastin Hotel this afternoon were tight-lipped about the agenda of the meeting, and why it was being held there and not at its usual base at the PKR headquarters 10 minutes away in Merchant Square.
Among those sighted entering the hotel’s upper floors were Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah, Lim Guan Eng, Mohamad Sabu, Lim Kit Siang, Nik Nazmi and Dr Lee Boon Chye.
Fahmi Fadzil, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Christina Liew, Hassan Karim, Wong Chen, Larry Sng, Gobind Singh Deo, and Khalid Samad were among the others sighted.
Anwar avoided speaking to reporters when he walked past, only uttering: “I have a meeting,” before entering the elevator.
Merbok MP Nor Azrina Surip did say however that there was a PKR meeting held at the hotel that preceded the PH meet.
“Earlier PKR had a meeting here in the hotel, but I cannot reveal details of that agenda,” she said.
Batu MP P Prabakaran said the meeting among the leaders was just to update everyone on the current situation.
“It is just for the updates over the current situation.
“The leaders will update you guys,” he said before walking away.
It was also learnt that neither PH nor Anwar have been summoned to Istana Negara by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong today.
“So far it is just this meeting, there are no plans for that (going to palace), no one has been summoned,” said a source.
