A special offer of Apple products at the Switch Warehouse Clearance sale in Kuala Lumpur on March 2, was a big let-down for would-be customers when overwhelming response forced the outlet to close early.

News of the sale which offered discounts on various Apple products had gone viral over the past few days, attracting hundreds of Apple fans to flock to the MyTown Shopping Mall in Cheras from late Thursday nights till the following morning.

However, due to overwhelming attendance and the uncontrollable crowd, the management was forced to close the outlet after opening for just 90 minutes.

In a move to control the swelling crowd, the management introduced a ticketing system which failed due to the unruly crowd.

Auxiliary policemen spent nearly two hours to control and disperse the crowd, most of whom left with gloomy looks.

Many of them had come from far and stayed up all night to purchase Apple’s cheap products, only to go home empty-handed.

Following the warehouse sale fiasco on Friday, Switch Malaysia issued an apology and extended the sale of Apple products to all its branches nationwide.

In a Facebook posting yesterday, the Apple Premium Reseller said Apple lovers may now enjoy discounted price at 30 of its retail outlets nationwide just for March 3 and 4.

The products on discount are MacBook Air 11” (RM2,799), iPhone 6 (32Gb) Gold (RM1,399), iPhone X 64GB (RM4,899) and iPhone X 256GB (RM5,649).

Apple accessories are also on offer, from as little as RM1.

Note that limited quantity of products is on sale.
