Freak accident captured on dashcam and shared on Facebook.
A three-month-old baby boy, Aril Rizqin Redza Shahril, died in a freak accident at KM433.8 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) northbound near Kuala Kubu Baru on Sunday.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt R Supramaniam said in the 1pm incident, a black Proton driven by a woman, S Nishanty, 27, had spun in the opposite direction and crashed into the road barrier causing the driver of another car, Shahril Salleh, 32, to lose control of his white hatchback which skidded and crashed into a drain.
The footage of the accident was captured on a dashcam by Kugan Kathegesen, who shared the video on Facebook. He stopped to help extricate the baby trapped in the car. The baby was pronounced dead by the Sungai Buloh hospital.
The police chief said in a statement yesterday that Shahril’s wife Rafnah Mongudancgal, 35, and the baby were thrown out of the car by the impact of the accident. Shahril, his wife and two other sons, Aril Hakimi Ashraf, 11 and Aril Zakuan Haris, 4, sustained minor injuries.
The case is being investigated under the Road Transport Act for causing death from reckless and dangerous driving.
