The witness claimed the boy had confessed his feelings to the victim the previous day, but she did not reciprocate.

The next day, the suspect, armed with a sharp weapon, cornered the Form Four student in the school’s female toilet.

“He was holding a knife and had her hostage inside the toilet. Then he started stabbing her repeatedly,” the witness said.

The victim’s friend, who was nearby, immediately ran to alert a discipline teacher.

“The teacher rushed to the toilet and tried to kick down the door. After several attempts, she managed to break it open, but the boy escaped and began chasing other students with the knife,” the student recounted.

Panic ensued as the suspect, covered in blood, reportedly ran into several Form One classrooms while still armed.

“He ran into the classes and everyone just started screaming and running outside,” the witness added.

The chaos ended when the suspect’s elder brother and several teachers managed to subdue him.

“His brother managed to grab the knife after a struggle with him. The teachers were trying to calm him down,” the witness said.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat confirmed that the boy’s rejected confession was one of the possible motives under investigation.

“I cannot divulge much as we are still in the midst of investigating the case, including the actual motive for the attack. I will provide further updates once we have solid findings,” he said.

Preliminary investigations revealed the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

Shamsudin ruled out bullying as a motive, adding that whether the suspect personally knew the victim is still under investigation.

Two sharp weapons were seized from the suspect, who is a Form Two student at the same school. He was detained at the scene to assist police investigations.

Police received the report at 9.40am, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The suspect will be brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for a remand application.

The victim’s body was removed from the school compound at about 12.55pm and sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
