A Bersatu extraordinary general meeting to be called soon will also discuss making Mohamed Azmin Ali a party vice-president, said party deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu said.

Azmin yesterday announced that he, his allies and his supporters had joined Bersatu. The announcement was made at the Kongress Negara event, where the former PKR deputy president and his allies received his Bersatu membership card from party president Muhyddin Yassin.
The three Bersatu vice-presidents now are Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Dr Ronald Kiandee, Senior Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin and Paya Rumput assembyman Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen.
Speaking after a visit to the Slim by-election media centre in Slim River, Faizal, who is Perak menteri besar, said the EGM’s agenda was to amend the party constitution to attract more non-Malay and non-Bumiputera members.
Currently, Segamat MP Dr Santhara Kumar, who was one of 10 MPs sacked from PKR for abandoning the party, is the only non-Bumiputera MP to be an associate member of Bersatu.
